Driven by a deep desire for connection with the world, Filippo Fantini has long been guided by a broad curiosity for artistic expression, while pursuing architecture as his professional field.
His fascination with form, color, and material—already evident in his architectural practice—eventually gave way to an urgent need for personal expression, leading him to engage with artist collectives and to embrace assemblage as his ideal medium. Assemblage, on one hand, echoes architecture in its focus on structure and materiality; yet, its open and evolving nature allows Fantini to move beyond the constraints of function and follow the creative process wherever it leads, discovering the work as it reveals itself.
From 2010 to 2017, he was part of Baubaus, a Milan-based collective led by Patrizio Raso. With the group, he participated in numerous experiential art projects and engaged in a shared exploration aimed at dispelling the sense of estrangement often associated with contemporary art, asserting instead its vital and active role within society. In 2018, he took part in the group exhibition No Place in Santo Stefano di Magra with Museo Teo. In 2025, his first retrospective was held at Studio Sanna in Milan. His works are now included in several private collections in Italy.
